This is a follow up paper to

>Nest, M. "Efficient classical simulations of quantum Fourier transforms and normalizer circuits over Abelian groups." arXiv preprint arXiv:1201.4867 (2012).

It extends the results of that paper in various ways. The main result is that normalizer circuits can still be efficiently classically simulated, even when intermediate measurements are allowed. Arguably the biggest improvement of this paper on its predecessor is that it is much clearer how it fits into the general literature. The authors cite more relevant references, and seem much more self-assured in the philosophical interpretations of their results.
