In this lovely little expository note, Zhenghan and his friends give a pop-math account of the rank-finiteness theorem for modular tensor categories. They compare it to the early stages of Mendeleev's period table of the elements. Seeing as this paper is so short readable, there's no real need for me to summarize it here. It's fun to be aware of its existence.
